A necessary consequence for the growth in both academic workforce and stock of necessary facilities and infrastructure, was the establishment of the Postgraduate School for the purpose of developing the culture of research and more importantly, training a high caliber academic and professional personnel, in the all-important enterprise of human capacity building. The Postgraduate School, Niger Delta University (hereinafter referred to as the School) was established by the Senate on May 8, 2008. Professor Obaro Ikime was the pioneer Dean.
